My role
I was lucky enough to join Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai as a Brand Management Intern in the summer of 2024 - an experience that confirmed my passion for building a career in creative advertising. I worked with clients like Hennessy and Ford, supporting the account team across multiple integrated campaigns.
My key responsibilities included:
- Supporting senior account executives and managers through end-to-end campaign implementation, from creative development to production and post-campaign reporting.
-
Managing day-to-day communication between clients and internal teams - writing clear meeting minutes, arranging next steps, maintaining trackers and timelines, and consolidating evolving client feedback into asset calendars without delaying production.
- Ensuring cross-team alignment between creative, production, and strategy departments throughout each project, also acting as the communication bridge between clients and internal teams during on-site shoots to ensure outputs aligned with brand objectives and quality standards.
Beyong the projects I’ve listed, I also:
- Liaised between clients and the creative team for the redesign of James Hennessy ‘Meet the Unexplored’ key visual and CGI film.
- Supported Ford’s rebranding project with the strategy team - conducted market and audience research in an EV-dominated category to pinpoint opportunities for Ford’s ICE vehicles. The insight - people’s love for full control behind the wheel and the sensory thrill of starting an engine - inspired the creative direction ‘Be your own driver, not passenger,’ positioning Ford cars less as vehicles and more as ‘sensory deprivation chambers’.
- Contributed to deck writing, producing over 100 slides for Ford and Hennessy covering competitor research, communication strategy, evergreen social content guidance, market trend analysis, and post-campaign recap reports.
